Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert (m/f/d) Ibex® Readiness

For setting up new biopharma facilities in Visp, Switzerland, we are looking for a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert Ibex® Readiness . You acts as an Engineering & Maintenance Expert lead in Capital investment projects for Ibex biopharma facilities. You will be main responsible for delivering all input required for engineering, qualification and maintenance of the future facilities. (equipment standardization, pipe classes, qualification approach, maintenance strategy). You acts as a future Head of Plant Engineering during the initial engineering phases and provides leadership to cross-functional teams.

Key accountabilities and duties

  • Acts as an Engineering & Maintenance Expert lead in Capital investment projects for construction and commissioning of Ibex biopharma facilities. Supports feasibility studies, conceptual and basic design phases as future Head of Plant Engineering of those facilities.

  • Act as the interface between the investment-engineering organization (Global Engineering, Contractors) and operations. Main responsible for delivering all input required for utilities.

  • Responsible for delivering all input required for the use of Engineering and Qualification tools for construction,  commissioning and qualification of Ibex biopharma facilities

  • Responsible for implementing the Maintenance strategy, standards and concepts in the new facilities in alignment with the whole Lonza Visp site. Focus on cost-efficient preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Collaborates with the Operation Heads on defining & setting-up the operations organization and respective headcount ramp-up plans for the facilities.

  • Drives the ambition level in the design of the facilities by incorporating innovation, operational improvements and other aspects influencing the manufacturing, maintenance costs. Shares experience from an operational and process point of view with the design team.

  • Supports the implementation of Lonza culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside the own area of responsibility

  • Supports the preparation of GMP and Safety risk assessments and introduces expertise into these risk analysis.

  • Supports the future production and project teams in all questions of plant engineering, maintenance and utilities.

  • As a member of the Ibex Plant Engineering Leadership Team responsible for all aspects representing his area.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (University for Applied Science, Technical University). Preferred area of study: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical- or Biological Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automation

  • More than 10 year's experience in GMP and in engineering & maintenance of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical plants. Recognized expert in the area of Engineering & Maintenance for biopharma production units.

  • Strong leadership skills and team orientation

  • Knowledge of COMOS and SAP is desirable

  • Structured, focused and very well organized work behavior; reliable and resilient; solution-oriented and open to new ideas; agile, creative and highly motivated

  • Excellent communication & organizational skills, self- motivation, open-mindedness and solution orientation are essential for this position

  • Advanced written and oral communication skills in German and English
