We are currently looking for an Associate Director, Raw Materials – Group Operations. In this role, you will have a high level of responsibility and visibility for improving and globally aligning approaches on all raw material related processes, workflows and underlying structures. You provide expertise to support our global MSAT, supply chain, procurement and QC/QA teams.

We are looking for a very well structured, hands-on, out of the box thinker to become part of the Group Operations. The purpose of this role is to continuously develop and implement best in industry processes across Lonza’s Pharma and Biotech network incuding all modalities (ranging from biologics, small molecules, gene and cell therapies to our bioscience business). The incumbent will collaborate with global and site stakeholders (e.g. divisional operations / site heads, customer program management, OE and quality) to identify, develop and implement improved raw material procedures, tools and processes. The role requires close collaboration with Supply Chain, Procurement, MSAT and QA/QC to ensure that the right raw material projects are driven forward. You will need strong technical and leadership capabilities that is able to navigate and lead in a matrix organization as well as to represent Lonza to customers and authorities. Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and drive cross-divisional initiatives, harmonized standards / best practices in the context of raw materials - ensure efficient network roll-out, training and subsequent adherence to standards

  • Support and drive global cross-functional strategic evaluations, initiatives, and projects.

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert in the context of raw materials.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor in Science or equivalent/higher with substantial experience in (bio)pharmaceutical industry

  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across divisions and technologies

  • Hands-on mentality and capability. Effective, versatile and action-oriented

  • Proven, leadership and communication skills and experienced in working in a large matrix organization

  • Six Sigma / Lean management background a plus
