Materials Requirements Planning Lead

We are currently looking for an experienced Materials Requirements Planning Lead to join our expanding Supply Planning team on a full time basis.

Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, you must be able to ensure a solid Supply Planning process, leading the creation and execution of the appropriate Supply Plans to get and maintain of inventory targets.

You will also be very involved on the order placement process, confirmations and supplier meetings, as well as building up key relationships with suppliers and being an expert of the MRP system for the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the MRP team as MRP expert, using the MRP SAP R/3 functionality.
  • Responsible for implementation and best practice for procedures and controls to manage the overall inventory levels and availability for all material types in site.
  • Perform routine tasks to convert planned orders into material plans including the creation and management of material planned requirements.
  • Liaison with Supply Planner and Schedulers to ensure all material plans are up to date and responsive to changes in material requirements.
  • Creation and maintenance of detailed material planning parameters in Planning systems, to ensure that raw materials are planned and managed according to best standard processes to prevent losses and/or scrap.
  • Expediting material availability through liaison with procurement and teams involved with inbound material processing.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders (Supply Planner, Scheduler and PM) to develop safety stock and inventory plans to meet production plans.

Key requirements:

  • Relevant CPIM qualification or demonstrated experience in MRP process and leadership.
  • Ability to influence both Supply Chain and functional leaders to support inventory management/ strategy recommendations.
  • Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define metrics (KPI’s) and identify issues through root cause analysis.
  • Highly competent using MS Office suite, particularly Excel, VBA and PowerPoint.
  • SAP R/3 MM and PP advance user.
  • Good command of written and spoken English - Business Fluent
  • Ability to utilize Business Intelligence systems to extract data and generate reports.
