Lonza is currently seeking a Marketing Campaign Manager. This role will be a key member of the marketing team in the Capsule & Health Ingredients (CHI) division. The role will be instrumental in implementing product & services marketing strategy and efforts. Critical to success will be to develop awareness and positioning of CHI portfolio in alignment with business strategies, in order to ensure that customers and stakeholders understand the value and difference of dealing with CHI. The incumbent will work closely with the whole commercial team to generate lead and profitable business opportunities in order to support their annual financial targets. This position will support trade shows engagement, customer events, advertising, public relations, market intelligence, marketing automation systems including SFDC/Marketo, customer and sales support under the overall direction of the Head of Regional Marketing.

Key responsibilities:

Marketing role for CHI:

  • Implement and monitor regional marketing campaigns with a strong focus on maximizing lead generation and building brand awareness consistent with technology-specific market plans inclusive of event planning, execution and reporting results.
  • Post and review calendars with regional commercial team
  • Support the tactical mix of inbound and outbound, physical and digital tactics for campaign execution such as events, webinars, Subject Matter Expert content, thought leadership, content marketing etc) to reach individual program goals and measurement criteria per campaign
  • Jointly with Global marketing team implement media plans consistent with market plan messaging working with public relations service providers.
  • Jointly with the Digital marketing manager execute digital programs that attracts new prospects inclusive of SEO / SEM optimization. 

Outbound Marketing. Drive marketing campaigns and customer activation initiatives in AMER as requested. Develop and execute the marketing campaigns by leveraging external (competitive data/market trend insights) and internal (brand positioning/performance/growth opportunities) factors to provide successful execution in the region. Ensure global alignment with the CHI brands and a harmonized approach to all market segments.

  • This position coordinates and manages all efforts to convey the CHI’s value proposition and key product and service offering to customers, the industry and other stakeholders through digital and experiential marketing.
  • Measure success on the market through key metrics and reporting key results vs KPIs
  • Manage all promotional efforts through established and new Go to Market strategies according to CHI key initiatives
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing content and in-bound marketing development
  • Coordinate the implementation of the media/PR strategy for the regions, in line with the global Marketing strategy and media plan
  • Tracking effectiveness of marketing campaigns and reporting findings to the Sales & Marketing team

Other roles and responsibilities

  • Build the brand and grow share in regional markets
  • Administer and monitor marketing activities in the region, ensure successful achievement of goals
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and ensure understanding and alignment to marketing plans
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales & Marketing colleagues around the world

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Marketing
  • Significant experience in Life Science, Pharmaceuticals, Nutrition or related field
  • Fluent in English and Spanish or Portuguese
  • Sound understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in Marketing (functional expert) and basic knowledge in other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain
  • In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with other Marketing areas and with other functional areas such as Sales
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others (internal and external); often customer-facing; interactions with senior leadership.
  • Ability to self-direct and pay attention to nuanced product details, as well as the big picture
  • Management of product and sales issues where analysis of situation requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining resolution and results 
  • Demonstrated success at building customer relationships and understanding customer needs. 
  • Demonstrated highly effective internal/external communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience with formal presentations to various levels of leadership within an organization
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to set and drive personal and business objectives
  • Ability to plan, organize and establish priorities
  • Demonstrated success managing projects in a relevant business context
