Lonza is establishing a strategic biomanufacturing base in China using GE Healthcare Solutions. With the new facility, Lonza is responding to growing demand for a high-quality CDMO in the Chinese market.

As Technician, Analytical, you will be responsible to execute activities to support the efficient running of the Analytical department including housekeeping, preparing buffers, inventory of supplies, interactions with procurement and delivery, stores personnel, sample management, equipment calibration and maintenance, and equipment validation etc. You will also perform hands-on assays in the areas of analytical method development, validation, process analytics and/or stability testing to a high standard in compliance with ICH guidelines, GMP and business principles and demonstrated expertise and understanding of analytical equipment, and also technical capability and scientific understanding in analytical setting

Key responsibilities:

  • Adherence to EHS rules and regulations is required at all times.
  • Under guidance of Supervisor perform activities to support the efficient running of the laboratory.
  • Performs laboratory support services assisting in running an efficient laboratory.
  • Developing expertise and understanding of analytical equipment.
  • Perform one or two test methods include, but are not limited to, techniques using capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, ELISAs, qPCR, general tests etc.
  • Laboratory work support including housekeeping, preparing buffers, inventory of supplies, interactions with procurement and delivery, stores personnel, sample management, equipment calibration and maintenance, and equipment validation, etc.
  • Documentation of results in accordance with Lonza policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Drives improvements using lab expertise and actively contributes to operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Manager/HOD.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor in Biological Science/ Engineering, Biochemical Engineering Chemical Engineering related area.
  • experience with experience gained in a lab either in industry or academia, or via an industry work training program, and has good understanding of GLP.
  • Understanding of theory and application of analytics
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good team working skills
  • Fluency in reading and writing technical English.
  • Biological pharmaceutical experience and equipment validation experience is preferred.
