For Drug Product Services (DPS), our successful Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) branch, located in Basel, Switzerland and Stein, Switzerland, we have exciting opportunities. Become part of a group that enables its customers to meet some of the greatest challenges in patient treatment and join us by applying for the position as Scientist Extractables / Leachables in our Forensic Chemistry team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute, develop and establish analytical methods and technologies for extractables / leachables (EL) laboratory studies

  • Support other functions in Forensic Chemistry such as but not limited to trace analyses, mass spectrometry, protein characterization, excipient analyses and subvisible / visible particle analyses

  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, follow lab and safety instructions and adhere to safety and health protection

  • Evaluate and implement new methods and technologies, as required

  • Participate in and contribute to innovation, technical strategy projects and scientific publications

Key requirements:

  • University degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field

  • Alternatively, education as a laboratory scientist / training on the job as analytical lab technician

  • Work experience as research or technical assistant / laboratory scientist in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry with focus on analytics

  • Good working knowledge in relevant analytical techniques

  • Experience in reporting, interpretation and documentation of complex analytical data

  • Good communication and inter-personal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English

  • Experience in trace analytical methodologies (e.g. GC-MS, LC-UV-MS) is an asset
