Senior Scientist / Technical Reviewer

This is a flexible role, where working from home is expected to continue to some extent. Ideal candidates would have a number of years of lab-based experience with some prior technical review experience preferred. This is a good opportunity for analysts who would like to move into a desk-based role, which focusses on critically reviewing and interpreting data from a range of analytical methods. Other responsibilities would include reviewing internal file notes/reports for the introduction of new technologies and test methods, supporting/leading quality records and being an active member of a customer project team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Critically review and interpret data from a range of assays, MEA, AKTA, HPLC, GXII, qPCR, icIEF, ELISA  and CE SDS, LC/MS and UPLC
  • Critically review or prepare customer ready data and reports.
  • Check for any issues affecting the assays relating to scientific integrity, interpretation of data, calculation, transcription errors and SOP deviations
  • Model and drive GMP best practices
  • Troubleshoot and investigate out of trend data.
  • Develop as an SME is specific method area.
  • Review internal file notes, Reports and setting acceptance ranges
  • Author, Review and approve documents, may own documents in DMS (as appropriate)
  • Complete assay review for the introduction of new technologies and test methods (within SME area) 
  • Support/Lead quality records including Investigations and Deviations.
  • Active member of a customer project team

Key requirements:

  • BSc in relevant scientific discipline (Biochemistry or Biotechnology) or relevant previous experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a range of analytical methods such as HPLC
  • Working knowledge of reviewing data generated from analytical methods
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of biochemical methods as applied to Protein analysis and process-derived constituents
  • Experience working in a laboratory / contract research environment
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines
