Lonza in Tampa, FL is searching for an experienced Engineering Project Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of the site capital plan.  The Manager leads the development of project scope, CAPEX funding requests, vendor purchase agreements, and the tracking of project spend and execution to completion.  During project execution, the Manager has responsibility for the oversight and management of approved engineering studies and construction projects that occur at the Tampa facilities. The Manager is responsible to ensure that projects are executed in a compliant and efficient manner, in accordance with applicable site and corporate SOPs and per local, state and federal regulations. Responsibility includes management of all site, electronic and hard copy drawings as well as individuals and contractors assigned to develop and execute projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with all departments to develop and manage engineering projects with regards to: analysis, planning, design, technical aspects, costs, applicable local, state, and federal regulations, environmental and safety.

  • Supervise project support staff and assigns duties as necessary to complete tasks. This includes personnel such as contractors, consultants, temporary workers, as well as internal support allocated to project..  Stops work when or where deemed necessary to preserve safe working conditions  

  • Work directly with and manage all outside firms such as Architectural & Engineering, Design, Construction, Testing and Consulting.

  • Interaction with regulatory agents and clients during inspections and audits as applicable.

  • Controls site drawings including version control, as-built, record set, general layout, utility, and HVAC, in both hard copy and electronic form.

  • Recommend, specify, approve, and order equipment which may include setup and qualification. Assists in development and execution of commissioning/verification/qualification protocols.

  • Leads and/or participates in project development and scheduling (including daily, short term, and long term) activities interfacing with relevant stakeholders and departments.

  • Manage CAPEX project budgets with cost forecasting, tracking, and control.  Provide input for budgeting department expenses. Assist in creating Lump Sum and eCAR funding requests and tracks approvals.

  • Comply with all local, state and federal regulatory requirements and guidelines and adhere to all defined Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations, promptly report issues, errors, and incidents, and seek to correct or clarify whenever Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations are either unknown or unclear.  Be a strong advocate for safety and contractor safety.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Able to read, write, and communicate clearly technical information in English.

  • Significant work experience in a GMP/Manufacturing environment

  • Write, review and approve Project Plans, User Requirements Specifications, Change Controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specifications, and other procedures as required.

  • Ability to work extended hours including weekends

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering ,Construction Management or related field.
