Scientist (m/f/d) Mammalian Process Development Downstream

The site in Visp is growing and for Ibex™ Solutions, our recently launched unique biological manufacturing and development concept in Visp, Switzerland, we are currently looking for a Scientist in our purification development group.

In this role, you will work hands-on in our state-of-the art laboratories together with a high-performing, international, cross-functional team with the goal of developing and transferring scalable processes for the manufacture of novel biotherapeutics.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, the execution and documentation of project-specific downstream process development activities

  • Collects, summarizes, analyses data to prepare development reports and presentations, as appropriate.

  • Supports actively lab work by hands-on-work.

  • Contributes to scientific field or technique by solving scientific problems within the department

  • Might be responsible to manage a lab and/or electronic platform.

  • Responsible for training of technicians and colleagues in his/her area.

  • Evaluates and implements trends and innovations in the area of expertise to deliver better performing solutions.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor / Master Degree
    Preferred area of study:  Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related disciplines

  • MS (1-2 years industry experience); BS (> 2 years of industry experience)

  • Good biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in the area of downstream process development;

  • Good leadership skills; good communication skills and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within the organization; strong team orientation

  • Structured, focused and well-organized working attitude; open-minded for new ideas and suggestions; high motivation and dynamic drive; solution-oriented; willingness to support hands-on lab activities

  • Excellent English and basic German is required
