Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is looking for a Driven Sr. Manager Financial Analyst who is an experienced and senior team member with the main responsibilities including business partnering, financial analysis & decision support, management reporting planning, stakeholder collaboration and systems/tools. The Sr Manager Financial Analyst is an engaged team member who works in close partnership with divisional, business unit, controlling and other key functional business teams to support business requirements, initiatives and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs as the lead for financial “business partner” by supporting the division, business units, site leadership, key business functions and controlling teams to support, initiate and/or deliver business objectives. 

  • Pro-actively and within recurring requirements, perform easy to complex financial analysis, recommendations as relevant, opportunities for improvements, optimizations and concise meaningful summaries to all levels of stakeholders within the division.

  • Decision support to key stakeholders including business/financial modeling, sales and contribution analysis, product costing, variance analysis, overheads, business cases, capital and CAR reviews and hoc.

  • Work within a matrix business structure, responsible for supporting and completing management reporting (group, segment, FP&A, division, business unit, key functions).

  • Active driver of reporting enhancements, improvements and efficiencies.

  • Integral lead in business teams’ planning processes such as long term planning (BSR), annual budget, annual outlooks and forecasts.  Provide guidance, support and direction to key stakeholders and colleagues within the planning processes.  

  • Pro-actively suggest, recommend and implement improvements and efficiencies.

  • Closely collaborate with key stakeholders (division, business units, segment, site, functions, group and so forth) to optimize and ensure compliance within processes, deliverables and division goals.

  • Active contributor and takes a lead (as relevant) in systems and tool enhancement, improvements, design and implementation (SAP, BPC, division systems) pertaining to reporting.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or closely related field.

  • MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Significant experience  in financial analysis, financial planning/budgeting, project accounting and analysis, management reporting, or related area.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Working experience with accounting, financial reporting, and database/statistical software; SAP and Hyperion preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including statistical analyses, modeling and forecasting.

  • Experience in a corporate environment; experience supporting multinational manufacturing and commercial operations preferred.

  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and tools.

  • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills.

  • Detail and results-oriented with strong problem solving, research and resolution skills.

  • Must enjoy contributing, working and adapting to an evolving, fast-paced environment.

  • Must be a self-starter who leads, owns, and drives results in area of responsibility and beyond and has deep interest in learning and contributing to the business of the company.

  • Prefer candidate who will be willing to relocate within the U.S. or other countries as Lonza is a global company with opportunities and analytical support needs around the globe.
