The Lonza Cell & Gene Facility is the largest in the world and is continuing to grow. Our Engineering group is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager, Viral Vector that will be responsible for the leadership of equipment maintenance and reliability in the Viral Vector manufacturing area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The delivery of reliable operation and maintenance of the Houston Site Facilities in the Cell Therapy/ Viral Vector manufacturing areas.

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise for maintenance strategy for equipment and systems.

  • Recommend and support implementation of improvements to maintenance instructions including Job Plans, Spare Parts Lists.

  • Lead and Develop Other Managers.

  • Responsible for Multiple roles and organizations.

  • Interact with all the Site Areas and Teams outside of Houston (Across the site).

  • Development synergies with other areas and department.

  • Handle global resources and implement global initiatives.

  • Implement projects with minimal supervision.

  • Handle different strategies at the same time.

  • Influence changes across the Site.

  • Advising functional groups about best methods.

  • Rely as technical experts in their domain.

  • Accountable for your department performance and results.

  • Integration of program and dept program with the site objectives.

  • Own selected maintenance SOP’s and recommend and implement improvements.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to timing and coordination of maintenance activities.

  • Provide field support to identify and resolve equipment and maintenance related issues

  • Provide support to improve safety, compliance, efficiency and effective execution of maintenance work orders.

  • Evaluate equipment and instrumentation maintenance and failure history and recommend and implement improvements.

  • Manage selected maintenance contract service providers.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Extensive experience managing a cross functional team of utilities and maintenance personnel.

  • Extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical/ Biotech industry.

  • Extensive knowledge of FDA and GMP standards/ regulations.

  • Significant experience in building and improving upon maintenance strategy.

  • HVAC experience, utilities knowledge and clean room experience preferred.

  • Substantial experience growing and developing maintenance teams.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
