Senior Manager, Sustainable Procurement

Define and implement the E2E Procurement sustainability strategy to ensure transparency and alignment on the Lonza global sustainability goals, in collaboration with the Procurement team, internal stakeholders and suppliers. The Senior Manager, Sustainable Procurement will also lead the change management process within the Global Procurement organization and make CSR & Sustainability a key priority within the responsibilities of the team. Lastly, the Senior Manager, Sustainable Procurement will lead the supplier performance management in terms of sustainability and social responsibility.
Develop the Procurement sustainability strategy for Lonza in alignment with key internal and external stakeholders
Develop and roll-out the vendor due diligence and risk management process to identify, address and resolve potential ESG risks with Lonza’s suppliers (including required technology, organization structure, ways of working, policies and procedures, KPI’s)
Lead the Procurement cross-functional sustainability projects (Supplier Code of Conduct review, embed sustainability elements into Procurement processes, sustainability related terms into contracts, etc
Lead the engagement with suppliers in order to support Lonza’s sustainability priorities and goals (Ex: Scope 3)
Implement the relevant targets, KPI’s and reporting capabilities to track and measure the performance of the program and of our suppliers
Monitor emerging trends, global sustainability dynamics regulatory environment
Introduce innovations to make step changes towards sustainable Procurement
Align to global efforts towards more fundamental, long term circularity, including chemical usage optimization, recycling, renewable sources, green chemistry etc
Develop and deliver training to Procurement professionals
Continuously review supplier sustainability priorities and actions in line with most recent trends and innovations
Highly experienced with working experience either in sustainability management or in sustainable procurement and have proven track record in Corporate Social Responsibility / Sustainability and bring experience in the development of sustainability strategies and their execution at an international or global level. Experience in the reduction of Scope 3 emissions is required
Understanding of different Procurement disciplines and how they integrate with each other
Knowledge of Project Management approaches, tools and phases of a project lifecycle, knowledge of the change process
Critical thinking skills and comprehension of lifecycle and other scientific principles needed to achieve sustainability goals
Experience to work in a dynamic environment with ability to prioritize and focus
Ability to influence others and move towards a common vision or goal
Excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal, Conflict Management
Ability to coordinate activities globally
Proven knowledge of the science of learning and instructional design.
