This position is responsible for supervising nine direct reports and all activities associated with the daily operation of the Chemistry lab.
Testing of raw materials and finished products utilizing various test procedures.
Ensuring that all testing is performed in accordance with the FDA 21 CFR Part 111 and 117 guidelines for Dietary Supplements and Food.
Responsible for operating, maintaining, and providing instruction on various analytical instruments used to perform analyses such as GC/FID, HPLC, ICP-MS, UV/VIS, and FT-IR.
Conduct method verifications/validations and establish working instructions for new methods.
Multi-tasking of multiple projects, troubleshoot instrumentation, and work in a team environment.
Supervisory responsibilities to include attending meetings and providing testing status updates, identifying gaps in existing quality systems, leading and supporting project teams focused on improving current quality systems.
Participate in customer audits, work well with internal and external customers, and provide guidance to colleagues as needed.
Attendance in the plant/office is considered an essential function.
Must be willing/able to work extended days/hours to include weekends, holidays, overtime.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Chemistry or Science-related field.
Intermediate level of experience in a chemistry lab in the dietary supplement industry or related cGMP regulated industry.
