Sr. Specialist, Environmental Health and Safety

Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an opportunity for a Sr. Specialist, EH&S (Environmental Health and Safety) at their Bend, OR site. The Sr. Specialist EH&S assists the EH&S Manager in providing leadership and direction for maintaining the site Safety, Health and Environmental programs. You'll bring your comprehensive in-depth knowledge of Safety Health and Environmental regulations, working on complex issues to deliver solutions that support the business.
Program Implementation/Enforcement – Work with site employees and contractors to understand and achieve the objectives of the site EHS program
EHS Project Management – Develop projects and lead teams to achieve improvements in site EHS performance
Risk Assessments/Resolution – Participate and lead EHS risk assessments for new operations, equipment and process changes. Work to resolve all EHS concerns
Process Safety Management – Works with stakeholders in development of fully compliant PSM program
Program Development – Develop site EHS programs to meet regulatory compliance, prevent injuries and protect the environment
Recordkeeping/Reporting – Collect and maintain data and records for EHS compliance and reporting
Inspections and Audits – Conduct and coordinate EHS inspections and audits including internal inspections, corporate, regulatory and customer audits
Training – Prepare and Deliver EHS training and education to employees and contractors working at the site
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or Engineering Environment or related field and experience in-the-trenches EHS experience is required. Will evaluate acceptable combination of education and experience
Seasoned professional with a track record of managing strong safety, risk reduction related programs as measured by industry reporting standards as well as Safety/Environmental compliance responsibilities
Prior development and implementation of process risk assessment programs is required
Experience within a cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) environment is desired
