Summary of the Job Description
Lonza Specialty Ingredients (LSI) is looking for a Regional Product Manager APAC based in Malaysia to fill in Microbial Control Solutions Asia Commercial Team. This position will responsible to implement global product strategy in APAC (with special focus on SEA and Australia/NZ) that incorporates mid-term asset and pricing strategies to maximize overall profitability and enable sustainable growth. He/she acts as a bridging function in the value chain between inbound (e.g. Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.) and outbound focused functions (e.g. Marketing, Sales), facilitating information sharing and cooperation between all stakeholders. The Regional Product Manager drives asset related projects, supports pricing execution and is first point of contact for the Global Product & Pricing team in APAC for any Product or Pricing related enquiry.
1. Asset Management
Defines the portfolio related asset strategy in cooperation with operations and the commercial functions in order to support sustainable business growth and accommodate new product releases for APAC.
Drives asset focused gross profit optimization projects, affecting different product portfolios in APAC
Performs asset footprint related risk assessments & builds business continuity aligned with global product strategy.
Provides guidance on target costing to relevant operations and supply chain functions.
2. Operative Pricing & Margin Management
Supports the operative pricing management process and tactical pricing tasks in special events in APAC (e.g. peak demand, shortage, raw material volatility) in cooperation with the Global Product Manager.
Through developed pricing strategies, increases margins in the assigned portfolio via strong cross-functional engagement and sophisticated pricing techniques in coordination with the Global Product Manager
Proactively coordinates within APAC cross-functional cooperation, sourcing input, market and competitive intelligence to improve alignment of pricing, business goals and margin optimizations.
Performs a governance and compliance role regarding the correct adherence to the price setting process and guidelines.
3. Product Stewardship
First point of contact for the global team in APAC to facilitate communication between the Global Product & Pricing Team and the local key stakeholders.
Support the Global Product Manager in special events such as product allocation, collecting market intelligence or projects to assure rapid implementation in APAC
Oversees Product Master Data maintenance and resolves product information discrepancies.
Facilitates product liaises with Front End Development, Product Development, and MPO to ensure smooth implementation of new and revised products for regional products. He/she coordinates product launch activities with marketing, technical, operations, and sales, and supports the activities of IPM projects and SFDC opportunities in a way that ensures the market demand and timing is met.
The position requires an estimated 10% travel requirement.
