This role will be to support the EMEA VAT Team Lead to improve VAT compliance processes and establishment of VAT procedures to secure VAT compliance. You will manage the preparation and submission of the monthly / quarterly VAT returns for EMEA in-scope countries by working autonomously to follow established procedures, accounting principles and guidelines in order to maintain the organizations VAT returns and reconciliation of turnover in a accurately and timely fashion and in line with other fillings (e.g. Intrastat).

Key responsibilities:

  • On time and accurate filling of VAT, EC sales lists and Intrastat returns, whilst ensuring all relevant control sheets are updated.

  • Perform relevant reconciliation including VAT to turnover.

  • Ensure VAT compliance tasks are executed to a timely and accurate manner. Support in case of VAT audit.

  • Provide support and training to relevant stakeholder groups for tax related topics, specifically use of SAP tax codes.

  • Analyse processes and provide input for ways to streamline/improve the process and implement controls to manage VAT compliance risks in coordination with the VAT team lead.

Key requirements:

  • Qualified or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)

  • Good knowledge of VAT compliance, detailed system knowledge is needed to constantly challenge procedures and propose improvements by working cross functionally.

  • Experience in a Shared Service Centre is preferred but not essential.

  • European language capabilities are preferred but not essential.
