The purpose of this internship would be to research and recommend what a best practices Portsmouth-based social media practice would look like (including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok). Currently, Global Social Media focuses on Lonza as a whole. Given the amount of recruiting we will need to do over the next decade, having a focused and dedicated Social Media practice at Portsmouth will allow us to enhance our recruitment efforts as well as champion the good works we do in the Portsmouth Community. The intern would engage in the following activities:

Key responsibilities:

  • Research best practice Social Media in the following areas. CDMOs, pharmaceuticals, NH Companies, Other industries with best practices Social Media function

  • Interview key Lonza personnel regarding Social Media requirements, including Portsmouth Head of HR, Portsmouth head or Recruiting, Portsmouth Head of Communications, Global Marketing/Social Media Personnel, and other Lonza Sites with localized Social Media presence.

  • Develop a recommendation for Portsmouth that include the following

    • Social Media Channels to Use

    • Tools to Employ

    • Cadence of messaging

    • Content Editorial Calendar

    • Approach and Cost for Implementation

    • Quantifiable Value of creating a Portsmouth Social Media function

  • Impact of not creating a Portsmouth Social Media function in Portsmouth

  • Share findings with Senior Leadership Team

  • Get Portsmouth Social Media program up-and-running, if time allows

Key Requirements:

  • At a minimum, completion of sophomore year (typically 60 credits).

  • Must working towards a BS or MS a degree in an Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or related field

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required.

  • Must be able to begin Monday May 24, 2021 or June 7, 2021 and complete the internship role, which will end late 2021

  • 10-20 Hours of part-time work per week
