For Drug Product Services (DPS), our successful Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) branch, located in Basel, Switzerland and Stein, Switzerland, we have exciting opportunities. Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various levels and sites within Lonza DPS working on a variety of parenteral drug product research and technology projects

  • Contribute scientific and technical guidance to develop new Drug Product Services solutions and innovations

  • Provide leadership to direct and indirect reports through pro-active performance management, mentoring and coaching

  • Represent Lonza DPS in internal Research & Development forums and discussions

  • Keep Lonza Pharma & Biotech ahead of the curve by driving development and improvement of the technical approach to parenteral drug products  

  • Coordinate strategic relationships with scientific leaders across Pharma & Biotech, commercial partners and academic collaborators

  • Primary partner for external partners including drug delivery and technology companies and academia

Key requirements:

  • Ph.D. in pharmacy, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or related field

  • Extensive experience in the field of parenteral drug product development and commercialization 

  • Demonstrated understanding of parenteral drug product development and commercialization in biologics formulation, analytical processes and manufacturing, primary packaging and device technologies and patient interfaces

  • Strong commercial knowledge of CDMO Businesses with specific focus on drug product and parenteral delivery expertise

  • Proven ability to work in matrix and project environments

  • Track record leading, developing, coaching and mentoring scientific teams

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to deliver sustainable R&D improvements

  • High level of communication and presentation skills
