LSI is looking for a Regional Sales Manager EMEA supporting our Microbial Control Solutions (MCS) located in Spain (remotely).

You are responsible for network of agents, distributors and direct customers for Wood Protection in Spain and Portugal.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor local sales strategies for the sales in Spain and Portugal

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales objectives, while ensuring the optimum customer experience satisfaction

  • Prepare and implement a comprehensive business plan to achieve sales goals for assigned customers

  • Maintain and improve customer relationships to improve customer services and satisfaction level, including strategy meetings with customer’s senior management to understand their needs and link them to the organizations’ strategies

  • Revise lead generation plans to generate a substantive sales opportunity pipeline

  • Develop and drive new business opportunities

  • Coordinate and communicate customer needs within Lonza to Technical Support, Regulatory, R&D and Marketing

  • Demonstrate Sales Excellence, i.e. accurate forecasting, call reports, market monitoring, sales plans, competition analysis, customer relationship management

  • Build and maintain an effective network within LSI

  • Actively represent our business at trade shows and conferences

  • Office based in Spain with travel within the EMEA region

Key requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry or Industrial engineering, additional education in Sales is a plus

  • Understanding commercial, financial, technical/environmental and engineering issues relating to timber preservatives

  • Planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a highly complex matrix environment

  • Effective listening skills, independent and self-directed for managing existing business and new opportunities.

  • Able to develop long-term relationships and have very good interpersonal skills which enable effective communication with people at all levels, from Government ministers to plant operators

  • Culturally aware and experienced in working in an international environment

  • Strong, customer-focused philosophy, high energy and positive attitude

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) in Spanish, Portuguese and English with ability to articulate key technical concepts.
