Our successful Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) branch Drug Product Services (DPS) offers a holistic phase-appropriate approach to parenteral drug product development and manufacturing to our clients as well as exciting job opportunities. Key responsibilities:

  • Lead Lonza’s Drug Product Operations network for the manufacturing of parenteral drug products, for clinical and commercial use

  • Ensure timely delivery of manufactured GMP batches at all sites according to quality and quantity requirements as well as effective use of resources across network

  • Analyze manufacturing performance of all sites and drive continuous improvement in order to achieve (industry) best-in-class level

  • Develop and implement Drug Product Operations network strategy to contribute to business growth

  • Drive major Capex projects as Operations representative and create business cases for capacity expansion for existing and new sites

  • Implement, evaluate and create innovation and technology strategy projects generating intellectual property as well as new methods and technologies

  • Contribute to scientific reputation of Lonza’s Drug Product Operations and build customer relationships anticipating their needs and future expectations

  • Warrant close collaboration, knowledge transfer and management across Drug Product and Biologics Operations networks and sites

  • Secure strong operational support and collaboration between different functions of the DPS Business Unit

  • Coach high-performance leadership team and align performance and roadmap to the DPS Business Unit strategy and needs

  • Act as Operations representative in the Leadership Team and communicate with DPS Operations organization to define roles and inspire achievement of objectives

  • Guide Drug Product Operations Stein Site to deliver base business and growth initiatives in a safe, compliant, reliable and high quality manner

Key requirements:

  • University degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent

  • Substantial industrial experience in GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing (aseptic and /or fill & finish

  • Significant experience in senior leadership roles ideally covering in more than one function

  • Notable international exposure and outstanding management abilities

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills

  • Outstanding leadership abilities

  • Proven track record managing and prioritizing multiple programs maximizing value creation

  • Fluency in English; German skills advantageous
