Lonza Specialty Ingredients (LSI) is looking for a HRIS Specialist reporting to the Sr. Manager, HR Analytics & Projects. They will be responsible for maintaining our HRIS systems to ensure current and future functionality exists to support HR initiatives and business processes. This role will provide HR data management support, systems support and be a source for data that enables smarter, more data-driven people insights and business decisions. This role will collaborate with HR & IT to ensure the right solutions are developed and implemented to meet business needs. 

Key Responsibilities:

HR Systems and User Support

  • HRIS subject matter expert for information systems supporting HR planning and operations. 

  • Serve as a key resource for processes in Workday modules such as HCM, Recruiting, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Benefits, and Performance Management.

  • Facilitate user training, and collaborate with HR team to develop procedures, guidelines, documentation and training tools.

  • Process changes and execute data reporting and preparation requests.

  • Applies HR functional knowledge in optimizing HR information systems support.

Data Extraction, Processing, and Preparation

  • Maintain HR data and system integrity in Workday and related systems through regular oversight reporting, audits, and analysis.

  • Works closely with other subject matter experts to ensure data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. 

  • In close collaboration with LSI IT, support Workday system configurations, integrations, and updates through process review, user acceptance testing, document summarization, and execution.

  • Collaborate with data-heavy areas of HR such as people analytics & total rewards to establish shared goals, gather requirements, and iterate on work products.

  • Develop/customize reports and prepare data that support HCM, payroll, benefits, people analytics, compensation, and other areas as needed.

  • Ability to draw inferences from disparate pieces of data; identify key findings; and link to implications and provide recommendations.

Business Process Optimization

  • Explores, integrates and makes recommendations to enhance existing HRIS framework while mitigating risks for global processes.

  • Partners with HR team/business stakeholders to gather and develop business and legal requirements, translating them into technical solutions and process improvements in Workday

  • Remain current on HR system and data practices in order to implement new ideas as well as leverage system technology for operational effectiveness

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of HRIS experience with prior experience supporting multiple HR systems applications

  • Prior progressive experience in Workday, specifically in HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Time Management, and Performance Management

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex requirements of stakeholders.

  • Uses project management skills in managing projects.

  • Ability to assess and resolve issues, while translating complex information into concise and understandable terms.

  • Highly detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
