The Project Controller/PMO is responsible to support project teams in APAC region to take into account comprehensive and accurate project schedule & cost estimations and implement robust monitoring & control processes to ensure project costs & schedules and any related risks are regularly reviewed and mitigated/brought back on track

This role also requires the incumbent to consolidate and report on all CAPEX elements within projects (e.g. Scope, Spend, Cost & Schedule, Hiring etc.)

Key responsibilities:

  • Make sure that overall project portfolio reporting is executed on time and shared with all relevant PL's/CL's and stakeholders.

  • Consolidate individual project reports for all elements of CAPEX for projects (e.g. Scope, Spend, cost & schedule, hiring, etc.) into overall SGIE platform.

  • Report and propose and implement corrections at a platform level.

  • Develop/issue individual project reports, ensuring deviations on cost & schedule are spotted early and corrective actions taken

  • Ensure project control plans and related reporting for cost & schedule elements are implemented during project execution phase.

  • Working with Platform Project Control team in consolidate reporting into platform wide overview via PMO reporting.

  • Responsible for ensuring that costs & schedule from third party providers & contracting parties are managed, reported and corrected for any risks for their respective projects. .

  • Support Project Leads (PL's) and CAPEX leads (CL's) within SGIE APAC region in the project initiation phases to assess the completeness of project design packages with a specific focus on cost & schedule elements.

  • Support PL's/CL's in evaluating cost & schedule elements across all areas in their project designs.

  • Support PL's/CL's to prepare cost & schedule elements analysis for “Project Stage Gate Reviews”, challenge cost & schedule estimates both within and external to Lonza (third party suppliers/contractors).

Key requirements:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering.

  • 8+ years of experience in estimating and ensuring accurate costs & scheduling for small to mid-sized (> 20 Mio CHF) projects.

  • Preferable to also have experience being part of a team planning & implementing mid-scale projects.

  • Demonstrated history of applying “best practices” and achieving results in the areas of project cost & scheduling, and linking these to risk management.

  • Understanding of how a Pharmaceutical/Bio Science business works.

  • Familiar with cGMP.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing area advantageous.

  • Familiar with project portfolio reporting.
