Lonza Specialty Ingredients (LSI) is looking for a Demand Planner in our Morristown, NJ office. This role is responsible for forecast validation activities that ensure that data in the forecasting tool align with agreed strategy (statistical, historical and manual). Maintain quality forecast data and improve the process with target of meeting LSI customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of, demand analysis and  forecast  based on a IBP tool with the agreed globally defined methodologies  and assumptions including statistical forecasts

  • Provide monthly demand review data to S&OP to develop between stakeholders of all planning functions to reach the consensus of an accepted demand forecast.

  • Monitor and report key changes in sales forecasts.

  • Consolidate forecast information that will be utilized to build production plans at production and tolling sites or to generate the IC replenishment plan.

  • Enrich demand forecast with special event notifications and assumptions based on inputs from marketing, sales, customer service and industry indications.

  • Track and explain the changes, identify and report risks and opportunities, execute the action plan to close the gap

  • Measure and manage the continuous improvement of forecast accuracy to meet.

  • Identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply.

Key Requirements:

  • MSc in Supply Chain Management or Business Management

  • APICS CPIM

  • Ability to influence both Supply Chain and functional leaders to support inventory management/ strategy recommendations

  • Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define metrics (KPI’s) and identify issues through root cause analysis

  • Competent using MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to utilize Business Intelligence systems to extract data and generate reports
