We also provide performance intermediates & chemicals for many industrial applications, such as agro intermediates, food & feed ingredients, cosmetics, non-current good manufacturing practices (non-cGMP) intermediates, and custom development & manufacturing.

LSI is looking for a Rotational Engineer. The program is designed to give early-in-career employees the ability to explore various engineering disciplines within three distinct Lonza sites. This cross functional training program will allow employees to develop a broad set of skills and build a diverse professional network within Lonza, while strengthening bench strength to offset anticipated skills gaps. Key Responsibilities:

Project Rotation

  • Encourage and maintain a safe work environment, assist Project Managers in all aspects of the Lonza project management process, read and understand project documents (plans and specifications) in detail, assist with pre-project activities as needed, including the development of project means and methods, interpretation of drawings, and the preparation/distribution of subcontractor bid packages.

  • Assist with project review and value engineering, ensure all completed work complies with applicable codes and contract documents (plans and specifications), assist the Project Manager with the generation of correspondence to owners, contractors, subcontractors, engineers and architects, assist with the preparation of project status reports and project cost reports, participate in project status meetings, and produce meeting minutes, assist in project close-out activities.

  • Function as Assistant/Lead Project Manager, assist with development of estimates at bid phase, including quantity take-offs and other tasks, assist with development of written proposal materials at bid phase, including basic technical writing and editing. Essential Skills and Experience, attend Leadership Training through a Lonza Training Program.

Production Rotation

  • Encourage and maintain a safe work environment, support manufacturing processes with the utmost integrity and adherence to Quality policy, support site initiatives for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and productivity improvements.

  • Support and meet development and production schedules, driving productivity, and quality initiatives, and manage the areas within budget guidelines and controls, evaluate manufacturing processes for improvement of product flow, cost, and First Time Yield (FTY)

  • Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships, provide direction, leadership, and technical support for production floor, analyze data and offer configuration changes to enhance product manufacturability, attend Leadership Training through a Lonza Training Program.

Maintenance Rotation

  • Support on-going initiatives to improve overall plant manufacturing safety through corrective actions with the maintenance department, ensure both preventative/reactive repairs and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation of all h production lines.

  • Enter and update maintenance records in Computerized Maintenance Management System to accurately record hours worked, job completed and maintain correct spare part inventory.

  • Work on specific maintenance projects and assignments involving work on production systems, control devices, motor repairs and power circuits, work with Electricians and Mechanics to complete assigned maintenance tasks. Interface with production operators and other functional departments effectively, complete and follow all required safety permits for the type of work being performed, ability to respond to requests in a professional and timely manner.

Key Requirements:

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

  • 0-2 years Engineering experience

  • Ability to relocate every 8 months
