For Drug Product Services (DPS), our successful Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) branch, located in Basel, Switzerland and Stein, Switzerland, we have exciting opportunities. Become part of a group that enables its customers to meet some of the greatest challenges in patient treatment and join us by applying for the position as Associate Principal Scientist Microbiology.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform microbiological tests and services for clinical and commercial products (incl. sterility, bioburden, bacterial endotoxins, water as well as laboratory activities for environmental monitoring) according to customer demand

  • Review and approve analytical raw data

  • Perform development and establishment of microbiological testing procedures, e.g. method suitability testing and provide training for test methods

  • Write SOPs, test methods, protocols, reports and other documents for laboratory activities

  • Support installation and qualification/re-qualification of instruments according to Lonza SOPs

  • Ensure appropriate maintenance of equipment, safety and health protection following laboratory and safety instructions and all cGMP regulations

Key requirements:

  • Degree (BSc, Master or equivalent) in Microbiology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field

  • Substantial work experience in microbiological testing, preferably in pharmaceutical industry working under GMP regulations

  • Outstanding working knowledge in all relevant microbiological techniques as well as GMP

  • Excellent communication, reporting and scientific skills

  • Very good ability to interpret complex analytical data

  • Capability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Fluency in English
