We are looking for a Purification Development laboratory Coordinator to join our Purification Development team based at our manufacturing site in Slough, UK. The successful candidate will ensure that the Purification Development laboratories are safe and productive places to work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Completing and maintaining GMP training status to >90% at all times
  • Working to Lonza’s Environment, Health and Safety requirements at all times
  • Coordinating all Purification Development laboratory equipment
  • Coordinating equipment booking systems
  • Coordinating equipment lists and replacement schedules
  • Coordinating equipment service schedules
  • Coordinating equipment commissioning/decommissioning activities
  • Ensuring replacement parts are available for use as required
  • Liaising with colleagues in other departments, not limited to Engineering, Site Laboratory Services, Process Analytics and Research & Development to ensure that activities are coordinated and efficient.
  • Coordinating the Purification Development laboratory housekeeping rota
  • Coordinating new starter training, including laboratory training
  • Maintaining stock lists of consumables and ordering as appropriate to meet minimum stock levels
  • Ordering specific items for experimental work
  • Managing the deliveries for Purification Development
  • Managing Purification Development freezer capacity and stock lists
  • Acting as a departmental Environment, Health and Safety representative
  • Ensuring that all Purification Development COSHH records are up to date

Key requirements:

  • Experience of working in a busy laboratory or technical environment
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Able to perform routine biochemical laboratory calculations, including use of standard form numbers and buffer molarity calculations.
  • Highly organised
  • Experience of using electronic and paper based record systems
  • Able to work as part of teams with representatives from multiple departments and agree distribution of responsibility for activities
  • Comfortable working with defined processes and systems that require strict adherence to rules
  • High attention to detail especially when completing paperwork to maintain data integrity
