LSI is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer in our Mapleton, IL facility to provide instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems technical support to the Product Teams, capital projects and daily production and maintenance activities.  Ensure efficient project implementation, timely completion and compliance to budget.  Provide leadership for the instrumentation and electrical systems in the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instrument and electrical assistance to both production and engineering, to accomplish the goals of the respective departments.

  • Prepare cost estimation and feasibility studies for maintenance and capital projects. 

  • Plan, develop and direct the activities of specific, assigned projects.  Ensure efficient implementation, timely completion, and compliance to budget.  Supervise activities of contractor personnel to assure a state of the art design and construction.

  • Collect, propose and/or champion projects for improving the functioning of the instrumentation and electrical systems at the site.

  • Ensure the continued calibration of the instrument/control and electrical systems, and that the plan remains current in instrumentation and control technology.  Develop, or ensure development of, complete and proper documentation of all control and electrical systems.

  • Ensure accuracy of all plant drawings and P&ID’s.

  • Is knowledgeable and complies with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations.

  • Responsible for efficient operation of plant assets through proactive instrument and electrical activities.

Key Requirements:

  • BS Engineering (Electrical) 3-5 years experience or MS Engineering (Electrical) 0-2 years experience.

  • Maintenance of ISO 9001:2000 certifications for LMC business by complying with processes, procedures and instructions for all activities in which this role participates.

  • Experience in project management and chemical environment

  • Office / plant environment

  • Project work may extend/change working hours during start-up

  • Must be capable of wearing appropriate safety equipment
