Senior Lab Technician - Purification Development

The site in Visp is growing and for Ibex® Solutions, our recently launched unique biological manufacturing and development concept in Visp, Switzerland, we are currently looking to recruit a part- or full-time Senior Lab Technician (m/f/d) to join our Mammalian Purification Development team based in Visp on a permanent basis. You will be involved in the development and optimization of mammalian cell culture processes for the purification of monoclonal antibodies and support the transfer of these processes to pilot and GMP Manufacturing scales.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independent execution of the planned lab work according to the defined schedule, ensure that experimental details, raw data and results are recorded appropriately and escalate technical issues in a timely fashion

  • Contribute to the efficient running of the laboratories by ensuring appropriate maintenance of the instruments, monitoring the inventory level and reordering raw materials and consumables, and by following best practices and lab safety rules

  • Ensure own training is up to date and train new starters or apprentices on dedicated instruments and techniques, demonstrate flexibility to support other activities within the department

Key requirements:

  • Laboratory Technician in biology or chemistry with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, or a similar qualification and several years of appropriate laboratory experience

  • Practical experience with laboratory scale ÄKTA chromatography and ultrafiltration (TFF) systems, proficient in the use of Unicorn software

  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), experience with recording lab work in a digital lab notebook or with specialized data analysis software is an advantage

  • Flexible, motivated personality with good teamwork skills and enjoying interdisciplinary work, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Basic knowledge of English is required, German is an advantage
