Sr. Chemist, Stability Lab

Performs various test procedures to determine the quality, uniformity and stability of finished products in compliance with company specifications, quality standards and government regulations in support of the hard capsule business, DFS, and Ingredients. Assists the coordinator with the operations of the program and provides leadership and training to fellow colleagues and supervision in the absence of the coordinator.

Key responsibilities:

  • Executes the Global Stability Program functions in accordance with guidelines and procedures.
  • Performs calibration, maintenance and inventory of laboratory instruments, equipment, standards and chemicals.
  • Conducts job functions in compliance with company standards and specifications, government regulations, as well as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) and Current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP’s). 
  • Completes assigned tasks within schedule and resource constraints.
  • Leads and executes special projects.
  • Maintains accurate and precise records.
  • Reviews documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Writes and executes validation and verification protocols.
  • Writes and updates Standard Operating Instructions and procedures.
  • Prepares professional summary reports.
  • Performs all job functions with the safety of themselves and fellow colleagues in mind.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Laboratory Science or equivalent
  • Masters Degree in Chemistry or equivalent, a plus
  • Strong proficiency with word processing, database and statistical computer software
  • Strong and professional communication skills. (written and verbal)
  • Experience in a quality control or quality assurance environment
