The Functional Expert Project Controlling supports Lonza's Strategic Growth Investments and Engineering  Shared Services Head of Project Control to establish and rollout  global guidelines.

In the position you will participate to regular project review to assess the accuracy of project schedule & ensure there is robust monitoring in place.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Control Head in definition of planning guideline for engineering procurement, Construction commissioning and validation to enable project to suits the best industrial practices, including 3rd party EPCM requirement. 
  • Support and overview roll out of global guidelines into platform and projects.
  • Regularly review schedule updating progress and progress system in place.
  • Support Platform Project control Lead in the recruiting process for Senior positions. 
  • Assist Project Control Head in the schedule assessment for initiation and before investment approval.  
  • Support Project Schedule risk assessment when required  and the definition of schedule allowances for large projects
  • Define consolidation reports and provide inputs for benchmark data collection from project.
  • Proactively promote Project control culture in the Lonza network, promoting cooperation and process / tools improvement. 
  • Support professional skills improvement collecting and sharing lesson learned across Lonza.
  • Actively interact with Platform Head to identify areas of improvement. 
  • As UNIFIER P6 Corporate Role will supervise administration aspect organize training as needed

Key requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering. Quantity Surveyor accreditation/additional professional training desirable (Master degree advantageous but not required)
  • Strong experience in Project Planning area for project >100 Mio Chf.
  • Construction planning experience ideally in Pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in Montecarlo schedule risk assessment preferred
  • Financial and Commercial Acumen. Can link general financial and commercial understanding to project goals, costs & scheduling and risk
  • International experience (Europe, Asia, USA) desirable including being prepared to travel
  • Solid collaboration and influencing skills and the ability to work together with teams and individuals in a highly matrix environment.
  • Excellent command of English, German advantageous.
  • Familiarity with planning software tools ( P6 Project, MSProject…)
