Lonza Specialty Ingredients (LSI) is looking for a Senior Financial Operations Analyst functions as a business partner with financial management and operations to effectively manage and control the operations financial performance.  Achievement by designing and delivering insightful, timely and relevant business analysis to improve transparency, efficiency, support growth of the business and maximize profitability. This position adds value to the organization by providing MCS Operations and financial management with insightful financial information to make sound decisions and insuring adherence to corporate accounting standards. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Takes an active role in MCS operations finance team to set, implement and deliver on business objectives.

  • Business Partner - influencing business performance by leading decision making process through insightful analysis, fact-based recommendations and proactively identifying opportunities and risks.

  • Supports timely delivery of all month end reporting requirements as designated. Including variance analysis and commentary, margin/contribution reporting based on business requirements.

  • Analyses, interprets and challenges operations performance, highlights and develops plans to capture key opportunities and mitigate risks.

  • Leads MCS Operations finance team to prepare site annual target/budget, outlooks and forecasts including business modeling. 

  • Partners effectively with other finance and operations functions and provides analysis and decision support relating to operations KPI’s.

  • Shares global responsibility for operations finance financial and management accounting in accordance with IFRS, the Lonza Finance Accounting Manual (FAM) and other required accounting principles.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance required

  • 5+ years experience in a financial analyst role

  • Strong analytical skills

  • SAP / ERP systems required

  • Cost Accounting / Inventory analysis
