Retinal pigment epithelial cells stained for Pan cytokeratin (green) and DAPI (blue)
Clonetics™ Human RPE cells are cryopreserved, primary RPE cells that are packaged at passage 2 and contain ≥500,000 cells per vial. The retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) is comprised of hexagonal cells organized into a monolayer that is densely packed with pigment granules. RPE cells play a critical role in visual function and photoreceptor viability.
RtEGM™ Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cell Growth Medium is optimized and performance tested for growing Clonetics™ Human RPE cells. It contains 0.8% serum.
Clonetics™ Media Products are specially designed to support the growth of human and animal primary derived cells. Media systems have been specifically developed and optimized for various cell systems. Media are supplied in several formats:
HRPE are guaranteed through 5 population doublings and stain positive (≥90%) for pancytokeratin and Zo-1 and negative (≤10%) for fibroblast contamination and endothelial marker CD31 ( ≤1%). They also test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots. A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is provided for wach cell lot purchased.
Recommended medium: RtEGM™ BulletKit™
guarantees the performance of Clonetics™/Poietics™ cells only if appropriate
Clonetics™/Poietics™ media and reagents are used exclusively and the
recommended storage and use protocols are followed. Any modifications made to
the recommended cell systems including the use of alternative media, reagents
or protocols, will void cell and media performance guarantees. If you need
assistance in selecting the appropriate media, reagents, or protocol, please
