AdipoLyze™ Lipolysis Detection Assay is a fast, sensitive, fluorescent in vitro assay used for detecting small quantities of glycerol in cells undergoing lipolysis. The AdipoLyze™ Lipolysis Detection Assay can quantitate in vitro lipolysis of adipogenic cell lines and both subcutaneous and visceral primary preadipocytes. It is based on a specific cycling enzyme reaction that detects glycerol as a derivative of the break down of triglycerides into their two components; free fatty acids and glycerol.
A unique advantage of using this assay is the ability to accurately detect very low levels (down to 0.44M or 0.04ng/l) of glycerol due to the specificity of the enzymes and the dynamic range of the recommended standard curve.
