| Allendale, NJ, February 28, 2009 — A widely-reported Associated Press article re-cently noted that the rising trend of homeowners planting vegetable gardens makes economic sense. It stated: “The National Gardening Association estimates that a well-maintained vegetable garden yields a $500 average return per year;” and “A study by Burpee Seeds claims that $50 spent on gardening supplies can multiply into $1,250 worth of produce annually.” Gardening experts and retailers across the country have seen the trend of vegetable seed purchases increase since last year. This is especially true in the Pacific Northwest. |
