| Publication regarding changes in voting rights according to Art. 21 SESTA |
Lonza Group Ltd, Muenchensteinerstrasse 38, 4002 Basel, announces that it has been informed by EMS-Chemie Holding AG, Kugelgasse 22, 8708 Männedorf, on 3 October 2006 that through its majority shareholder EMESTA Holding AG, c/o Schild Treuhand AG, Grafenauweg 8, 6304 Zug, its participation in the voting rights of Lonza Group Ltd fell below the threshold of 10% and it now holds 9,80% in terms of 4’944’966 registered shares of a nominal value of CHF 1.- each.
