Lonza announces price increase for Niacin and Niacinamide feed grade

Continued price increases for raw materials and energy are negatively impacting our chemical business.

The recent trends are having a considerable impact on our production costs, specifically B3 Vitamins. Therefore, in an effort to help absorb some of these sustained higher costs, Lonza announces increases of 10-12 % which will become effective on June 1, 2005. Demand for Vitamin B3 continues to be strong and it is foreseen that this trend will continue in all market segments. This summer Lonza will inaugurate its second nicotinates plant in China. This additional capacity will allow Lonza to cater to the future increased demand.
