| Ordinary Shareholders' Meeting of Lonza Group Ltd |
| Today's Ordinary Shareholders' Meeting of Lonza Group Ltd under the lead of Peter Kalantzis as Chairman of the day was attended by 368 shareholders. They represented 72% of the capital entitled to vote. |
The Shareholders' meeting agreed with the large majority to all motions of the Board of Directors. The dividend of CHF 1.30 per share will be paid out on 6 April 2004.
Mr. Rupert Gasser and Mr. Peter Matter decided not to stand for re-election for the Board of Directors. The Chairman, Sergio Marchionne, acknowledged their valuable contributions during their tenure as directors.
Sergio Marchionne, Peter Kalantzis, Bernard Mach and Sir Richard Sykes were all elected for a further period of office of one year. Peter Wilden was newly elected to the Board of Directors.
Peter Wilden is currently Executive Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Ferring Pharmaceuticals (CH). Ferring Pharmaceuticals is a privately held pharmaceutical company employing 2000 people in over 40 countries.
At its constitutional meeting, the Board of Directors confirmed Sergio Marchionne as Chairman and Bernard Mach as Vice Chairman.
