| Franklin Templeton Companies holds over 10% of the voting rights of Lonza |
| Publication regarding changes in voting rights according to Art. 21 SESTA. |
Lonza Group Ltd, Muenchensteinerstrasse 38, 4002 Basel, announces that it has been informed by Franklin Templeton Companies, LLC, 500 E. Broward Boulevard, Suite 2100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33394, USA, that its participation in the voting rights of Lonza Group Ltd has exceeded the threshold of 10% and it now holds 10.06% in terms of 5,073,774 registered shares of a nominal value of CHF 1.- each. Recently, the participation in voting rights amounted 9.99% and was correspondingly below the 10% for a short period of time of less than a week.
