L-Carnitine vs D-Carnitine
print
Chemically, Carnitine comes in two stereo-isomeric forms: L-Carnitine and D-Carnitine, but only the L-form is biologically active and occurs in nature.

The D-isomer and the D,L-racemate are synthetic substances.

Only the L-form has been approved and recommended as a feed additive. Supplementation with D-Carnitine has shown to be detrimental to the animal’s health and well-being.

Lonza's Carniking™ and Carnifeed™ only contain L-Carnitine.
